Velvet Hanger AZ, a feminine, luxury-inspired boutique founded by local entrepreneur Sally Headlee, is preparing to open its doors with curated fashion, thoughtful service, and an experience designed to help every woman feel confident and polished. A new Maricopa boutique is preparing to bring a little luxury, and a whole lot of pink, to our neighborhood.

There is something special about watching a dream take shape right here at home. This holiday season, as Maricopa celebrates its traditions and the people who make this city feel like family, we are thrilled to introduce a new business owner who is building something beautiful for the women of our community.
Meet Sally Headlee, owner and buyer of Velvet Hanger AZ, a feminine, luxury-inspired boutique on its way to Maricopa. Her promise is simple and heartfelt: a place created to make every woman feel confident, polished, and "a little bougie."
Something Beautiful Is on the Way
Velvet Hanger is more than a clothing rack and a register. From the moment a shopper walks in, the experience is meant to feel elevated, personal, and indulgent. The boutique's guiding ingredients are beautiful surroundings, curated fashion, thoughtful service, and pieces that make women feel amazing in their own skin.
The brand already has a voice all its own. Its mantras read like a pep talk from your most stylish friend: Where pretty meets powerful. Because basic isn't the vibe. A little bougie never hurt. Three words sit at the heart of it all: Powerful. Vibe. Bougie.
A Vision You Can Feel
In September, Sally shared a vision board with her growing online community, offering a peek at how she wants Velvet Hanger to look and, more importantly, how she wants it to feel. Picture blush velvet seating, gold-trimmed racks, arched fitting rooms framed in soft pink drapery, sparkling chandeliers, marble accent tables, and fresh roses at every turn. It is a space designed for lingering, for celebrating, and for finding that one piece that makes you stand a little taller.
She has also invited neighbors to pull up a chair, figuratively and soon literally, through casual "grab a coffee and get comfy" videos where she talks openly about herself, her journey, and the pink, pretty, bougie things to come.
Doing the Homework
Behind the glamour is a business owner putting in the work. This fall, Sally took Velvet Hanger on the road with The Boutique Hub, a national community that supports independent boutique owners. Her updates from the trip included sourcing time with FashionGo, the wholesale fashion marketplace, along with plenty of shopping, learning, and, fittingly, a pink party.
For shoppers, that preparation matters. It means the racks at Velvet Hanger are being curated with intention, built on relationships and research rather than guesswork.
Built With Her Neighbors
One of the loveliest parts of this launch is how openly it includes the community. Velvet Hanger has asked followers to share the brands they would love to see in the boutique, turning future customers into collaborators before the doors even open. The response has been warm, with friends and neighbors cheering her on from every post.
